Well out with 2015, in with 2016. I want to make positive changes. I've been sitting on this webcomic series for a long time and I finally have a job that affords me the spare time to work on it. So I hope to debut it soon! In the meantime, I'll be posting some short comics and stuff from my holiday doujin this year and hope you enjoy them. :D

So wow I didn't realize it'd been over a year since my last Journal. I gotta say, 2014 was a rollercoaster. While we did finally achieve our dream of being Team USA for World Cosplay Summit, it was definitely a ton of work. Japan was amazing and we got to meet so many fantastic people through the event. I loved it. I honestly don't know if I could put the experience into words, but GenkiLife did a pretty good job in their issue last summer.
A couple months after getting back, I ended up in the worst car accident of my life and it took about 2 months to put my life back together after shattering my hip and some major head injuries.  I'm mostly recovered, some 8 months later.  I'll still have some pretty gnarly scars from it forever, and I struggle sometimes with my short-term memory, but I'm doing good again.
It's kind of hard, whenever you finish a major accomplishment, there's this feeling of, "well... what now?" that kind of needles at you. Pushes you to do something bigger and better and more successful. Sadly the US just doesn't have a lot of major cosplay competitions that have a worldwide draw like WCS, but I've been taking on some pretty big projects just so my skills don't get rusty.
Goals... well? I want to start my webcoming, "Cosplay Panic," up again soon. I have a lot of stories to draw from and I hope it'll be something fun and engaging so please look forward to it. I also want to make all kinds of fun costumes and take lots of pictures! Fall tends to be convention-season for me, so here's a few I'll be visiting in the next few months:
Nan Desu Kan
Senshi-Con
Anime Banzai
Anime Los Angeles

Hope to see you there! And if not, hope to do some more reliable updates soon. :)

Heya! You may have noticed a photo-dump of epic proportions just recently.  Got some pics back from Anime Los Angeles and posted a few I've been meaning to from our Legend of Zelda shoot that I just hadn't gotten around to.  Hope you enjoy!
2013 had a lot of ups and downs and I'm hoping 2014 sees me in a better place physically, emotionally, and financially, but those goals are a whole 'nother list.  As for the arts and Deviantart specifically, I'm really hoping to get in gear and do a lot of creative projects this year.  I'd definitely like to get back into drawing and design, but we'll see how it goes!
I'll be hitting up a few cons in the next 5 or 6 months, so hopefully I'll see some of you there! Here's the lineup coming up:
Sakura Con - I don't think I'll be competing, but I'll be at Cosplay Chess for sure!
Anime Central - Finals for WCS are coming up! Please cheer us and all finalists on!!
Anime Oasis - the weekend after! it's gonna be killer, but Oasis is always such a fun party con. XD We always have a blast!

Happy November~

2 min read
Heya! Sorry it's been a while since the last entry! Life has been pretty crazy and all over the place for the last couple months.  Hoping to move into a new place in the next couple weeks, so all my things are packed up here and there and everywhere.

Fall is definitely convention season for me, so it feels like big things are happening every couple of weeks.  We had Salt Lake Comic Con, then Nan Desu Kan, and just recently, Anime Banzai and Anime Vegas.  Luckily I've got a bit of a breather til the next convention, Anime Los Angeles, at the beginning of January, where I will be helping out as staff (I work as the Art Coordinator and sooometimes hall costume judge!). ALA is one of my favorite cons, so I'm excited to go again.  I'll also be running the Pajama Party there for the 3rd year in a row! This year's theme is Attack on Titan, so we'll be showing up in lots of ridiculous cosplay PJ's.

Right now, I'm working on a looot of chainmail for my Twilight Princess Link costume.  Posted the Ordon pics recently, but I'm working on his Hero tunic/regular gameplay outfit.  Chainmail has taken me about 3 months of work.  We'd planned to have it done for NDK's regular cosplay contest, but the amount of detail and work in these costumes is crazy! But hopefully gonna have everything done and some new pics to post soon.

Trying to think of what I wanna work on this upcoming year and what resolutions to make with my art, whether that's costuming or drawing or making silly videos.  HOPING that I can get my stuff together and do another manga anthology for friends for Christmas again this year.  >o< go fight win~

Upcoming projects:
Link - Twilight Princess
Link - Hyrule Historia (original version)
Sora - Kingdom Hearts 2 (Final Form and School Uniform versions)
Kaito - Vocaloid (Tsugai Kogarashii)

Upcoming cons:
Anime Los Angeles 2014
Sakura Con 2014
Anime Oasis 2014

It's been one week since Nan Desu Kan and I still don't think it's all set in.  Our Guilty Crown skit/costumes took first place at the Mountain Qualifiers, which means we get to be one of the final teams in the running to represent the US in World Cosplay Summit 2014!  This is our 4th year, but the first time we've really managed to place!  We always seem to scrape by and get somewhere in the top ten or make it to finals, but to be recognized as a first-place team was such a achievement, I am really still reeling!

I've had a few people ask or say "it can't be THAT surprising, you guys get to finals every year."  Holy crap.  Have you SEEN the competition every year?  It keeps getting better and better.  We never go into a qualifier or finals thinking we will win, there are just too many amazing people!  2013 Finals was a great experience and holy cow, every skit was just fantastic, I can't imagine how hard it was to judge them.  I'm SO excited that we get to take part again this year and gonna cross my fingers SO HARD that we can make it to Japan!  The chance to represent the US and make friends with cosplayers around the world seems like an unbelievable dream of an experience and the reason we keep trying! X3

Coming up, well, it's Fall which is Con Season for me! Somehow managed to do several on the cheap or with super generous help, so I'm excited to see friends and cosplay again! So far, the schedule looks like:
Senshi-Con - Alaska - I'm bringing Marceline (Adventure Time), Sam Winchester (Supernatural), Alibaba Saluja (Magi), Barnaby Brooks Jr (Tiger & Bunny), and maybe even some Persona 4! ;D
Anime Banzai - Utah - Princesses, Mecha, and more? XD I'm excited to be doing Euphemia Li Britannia (Code Geass), Barnaby Brooks Jr. (mecha/hero-suit from Tiger & Bunny), Alibaba Saluja(Magi), and if I have time, fixing up Yue (CCS) for some pics with Clow and Yuuko. >w<  If not, well the others are all fun too.
Anime Vegas - Nevada - So far just a couple for certain, gonna finish Princess Garnet from FFIX in her coronation dress and then bringing back Tamaki from Ouran High School Host Club!

Hope to see y'all soon! :3
