So wow I didn't realize it'd been over a year since my last Journal. I gotta say, 2014 was a rollercoaster. While we did finally achieve our dream of being Team USA for World Cosplay Summit, it was definitely a ton of work. Japan was amazing and we got to meet so many fantastic people through the event. I loved it. I honestly don't know if I could put the experience into words, but GenkiLife did a pretty good job in their issue last summer.
A couple months after getting back, I ended up in the worst car accident of my life and it took about 2 months to put my life back together after shattering my hip and some major head injuries. I'm mostly recovered, some 8 months later. I'll still have some pretty gnarly scars from it forever, and I struggle sometimes with my short-term memory, but I'm doing good again.
It's kind of hard, whenever you finish a major accomplishment, there's this feeling of, "well... what now?" that kind of needles at you. Pushes you to do something bigger and better and more successful. Sadly the US just doesn't have a lot of major cosplay competitions that have a worldwide draw like WCS, but I've been taking on some pretty big projects just so my skills don't get rusty.
Goals... well? I want to start my webcoming, "Cosplay Panic," up again soon. I have a lot of stories to draw from and I hope it'll be something fun and engaging so please look forward to it. I also want to make all kinds of fun costumes and take lots of pictures! Fall tends to be convention-season for me, so here's a few I'll be visiting in the next few months:
Nan Desu Kan
Senshi-Con
Anime Banzai
Anime Los Angeles
Hope to see you there! And if not, hope to do some more reliable updates soon.

Here we go again~
Well out with 2015, in with 2016. I want to make positive changes. I've been sitting on this webcomic series for a long time and I finally have a job that affords me the spare time to work on it. So I hope to debut it soon! In the meantime, I'll be posting some short comics and stuff from my holiday doujin this year and hope you enjoy them. :D
New Year, New Goals, New Fun
Heya! You may have noticed a photo-dump of epic proportions just recently. Got some pics back from Anime Los Angeles and posted a few I've been meaning to from our Legend of Zelda shoot that I just hadn't gotten around to. Hope you enjoy!
2013 had a lot of ups and downs and I'm hoping 2014 sees me in a better place physically, emotionally, and financially, but those goals are a whole 'nother list. As for the arts and Deviantart specifically, I'm really hoping to get in gear and do a lot of creative projects this year. I'd definitely like to get back into drawing and design, but we'll see how it goes!
I'll be hitting up a few cons in t
Happy November~
Heya! Sorry it's been a while since the last entry! Life has been pretty crazy and all over the place for the last couple months. Hoping to move into a new place in the next couple weeks, so all my things are packed up here and there and everywhere.
Fall is definitely convention season for me, so it feels like big things are happening every couple of weeks. We had Salt Lake Comic Con, then Nan Desu Kan, and just recently, Anime Banzai and Anime Vegas. Luckily I've got a bit of a breather til the next convention, Anime Los Angeles, at the beginning of January, where I will be helping out as staff (I work as the Art Coordinator and sooometi
WCS Mountain Qualifier - U.S. FINALS HERE WE COME!
It's been one week since Nan Desu Kan and I still don't think it's all set in. Our Guilty Crown skit/costumes took first place at the Mountain Qualifiers, which means we get to be one of the final teams in the running to represent the US in World Cosplay Summit 2014! This is our 4th year, but the first time we've really managed to place! We always seem to scrape by and get somewhere in the top ten or make it to finals, but to be recognized as a first-place team was such a achievement, I am really still reeling!
I've had a few people ask or say "it can't be THAT surprising, you guys get to finals every year." Holy crap. Have you SEEN the
